Texas Food Safety and Defense Task Force Meeting

February 15, 2023 –9am till Noon Virtual Meeting

Good morning!

Welcome to all new attendees!  So glad to have you!  Some background information on the Task Force for new attendees:

The Texas Food Safety and Defense Task Force provides a forum to discuss food safety and security issues along the farm to fork continuum with a primary focus on Texas.  The purpose of the Task Force is to maintain an open dialogue with all partners in food safety and defense in to promote an efficient food safety system in Texas that maximizes the protection of public health.  The Task Force is comprised of Academia, Industry Associations, Consumer Associations and Regulatory Agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.

The meeting agenda will include agency updates, including legislative updates, and a round table discussion which allows attendees to discuss pertinent issues being face by their respective organizations.  The final agenda is below Meeting information may be forwarded to interested parties.

Texas Food Safety and Defense Task Force Virtual Meeting 4/13/2022

The Texas Food Safety and Defense Task Force provides a forum to discuss food safety and security issues along the farm to fork continuum with a primary focus on Texas. The purpose of the Task Force is to maintain an open dialogue with all partners in food safety and defense in order to promote an efficient food safety system in Texas that maximizes the protection of public health. The Task Force is comprised of Academia, Industry Associations, Consumer Associations and Regulatory Agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.

The topic for this meeting is the Salmonella Oranienburg investigation from September 2021. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 13th 2022, from 10:00am-12:00pm and is a free virtual event. We will include a Round Table Discussion which allows attendees to discuss pertinent issues they face at their respective organizations.

The topics for this meeting are Texas Food Establishment Rules Updates and Virtual Retail Inspections.  The meeting will be held from 11:30am- 3:30pm and is a free, virtual event.  We will include a Round Table Discussion which allows attendees to discuss pertinent issues they face at their respective organizations.

Pickle Research Campus of The University of Texas at Austin, 10100 Burnet Road, Building 137, Austin, TX 78758.  We will include a Round Table Discussion which allows attendees to discuss pertinent issues they face at their respective organizations.
